EOYS Display Process

The image below was the layout we as a team finalised and agreed upon as our ideal display concept for the End of Year Show. As the time for setting up the show approached, we, along with the other teams and projects, have been able to paint a picture of the final layout and design of the room.  Because of this, as teams, we are now able to discuss where the best possible layout out, not for each team, but the best layout that highlights everyone's work in the best way possible.  A design that is both organised, yet effective for the purpose of the show. It was decided that we, along with two individual projects, would share the separate room space that we assumed we would be able to have to ourselves.  Because of this change, we as a team had to rearrange our design to implement these changes and plot out our next move for how we were going to present our project. After spending a day moving and adjusting equipment, we as a team set up four Macs on the two tables

Personal Reflection - Final Year

As the time to submit our project approaches faster than ever, it feels right to look back yea, at the last several months, yes over the last year of Uni, but also, over the last four years I have spent at Ulster University.  This year was a year of superior unsurity, yet a feeling of excitement and wonder about what the FInal Year journey would be like.  Being in the team I find myself in, was an amazing thing for me.  Never in my four years as an Ulster University  student, have I had more confidence in the ability and determination of a group of people to achieve a task wholeheartedly and true.  Lorna, Cassie and Megan?  You guys were the best team I could ask for in my Final Year of University *sniffle sniffle bleh* Taking on a virtual reality project brought with it many challenges both personally for myself and for us as a team.  For myself, I found the technicalities and new software hard to adapt to.  Having been out of the animation game for a year as I studied abroad, m

EOYS Finalising

As the End of Year Show grows closer, a lot of effort and thought have gone into promoting it, sending out invitations and getting things ready for the big night on the 7th June, 2019!  A huge hats off has to go to the amazing committee that have worked so hard to facilitate and make the night happen.  With their fundraising, planning and design, our End of Year Show, is sure to be a huge success and great celebration of all of our hard work! Personally, I have enjoyed helping out with my classmates preparing the rooms for the night.  Painting, moving and rearranging the rooms so that each team/personal project has a good place to showcase their amazing achievements. Errors and Bloopers

Throughout a project such as this, it is expected that things will go wrong.  From failed lip syncs, to broken rigs.  Separated geometry, to files that just didnt save correctly.  This post is filled with little moments that went wrong...but were so funny...they were right.  I accessed many of these pictures from images we as a team shared with each other to get through our difficult spells of work and deadlines. Enjoy.   None of these need an explanation.

Voice Recording and Lip Sync

While being away in the States during November, I was able to record the voice for our AI waitress in the main animation.  During another trip within the last week, I was able to record our script from the teaser trailer that our team is producing for the End of Year Show premier.  We are very grateful to Mattie Winowitch for her generosity in her time and vocal talent to assist us in making our project what it is and being such an iconic voice for our waitress.  THANK YOU MATTIE!! Below are some clips of our reference videos for the character lines, and some lip sync development and improvements throughout our two weeks of listening to the same lines over....and over....AND OVER. Again.
